Union Attorney-General receives SIIA Chairman

Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo received Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA)’s Chairman Prof. Simon Tay in the office of the Attorney General in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. In the meeting, they discussed development of the legal framework concerned with investment and ways to attract foreign investment while still maintaining rule of law. They also discussed ways for relaxing procedures of the Myanmar Investment Commission so that investment approvals can be issued quicker. The Union Attorney-General also explained their plans to promote knowledge on laws concerning business and contracts for governmental officials. Also at the meeting were Deputy Attorney General U Win Myint, Permanent Secretary Daw Nu Nu Yin and Director Dr. Kyi Kyi Than Aung. — Myanmar News Agency
