Ukraine Consulate in Myanmar inaugurated

U Kyaw Zeya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shakes hands with U Aung Hlaing Oo, Ukraine’s honorary consul to Myanmar.

The inauguration ceremony of the Ukraine Consulate in Myanmar was held on the premises of Ukraine’s Honorary Consulate in Myanmar at the corner of Pyay Road and Parami Street in Mayangone township, Yangon at 7:30 pm yesterday.
At the ceremony, H.E. Mr Andrii Beshta, the Bangkok-based ambassador accredited to Myanmar, U Kyaw Zeya, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U Aung Hlaing Oo, Ukraine’s honorary consul to Myanmar, opened the consulate by cutting a ribbon draped across the entrance.
Afterwards, H.E Mr Andrii Beshta, U Kyaw Zeya and U Aung Hlaing Oo addressed the gathering.
The Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Ukraine set up diplomatic ties on 19 January, 1999, with the Ukraine ambassador performing bi-lateral diplomatic relations at the embassy based in Thailand.
