UEC allows election candidates to begin campaigning

The Union Election Commission announced Wednesday that cabinet members and deputy ministers could begin campaigning for the 8 November general election.
The UEC also granted electioneering permission to the Chief Justice of the Union, the Judge of the Supreme Court of the Union, the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union’s chairman and members, the Attorney General of the Union, the Deputy Attorney General, the Auditor General of the Union and the Deputy Auditor General, as well as the Union Civil Service Board’s chairman and members.
The UEC said it will issue announcement regarding campaign rallies after approving the Hluttaw candidates.
The UEC announced the same day that the election would be held on 8 November.
