Troops kills 10 violent armed attackers in area clearance operation in Maungtaw Township

While conducting an area clearance operation near the village of Kyetyoepyin Village, Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State yesterday, troops of the Tatmadaw responded to an assault by armed attackers, killing 10 attackers and seizing a rifle.
After the violent exchange during yesterday’s 7 a.m. clearance operation in the village of Kyetyoepyin, armed attackers fled to the western part of the village.
While pursuing them, the troops were fought by the attackers with guns, swords and sticks. The troops will continue to conduct clearance operations not to make it easy for attackers to hide in nearby villages, for the sake of peace and stability in the area and for the protection of local residents.—Myawady
