KYAUKSE town’s famous Traditional Elephant Dance Festival was held on 27 October.
Many locals and foreign visitors attended the festival according to a festival organisation committee member.
This year’s dance competition festival will include 25 elephant dances. There will also be a mahout dance competition. A total of 60 elephant dancers will tour around Kyaukse three times, paying respects to the ancient Bagan King Anawrahta. “We have explained the disciplines to the participants in the lead up to the competition,” member of the panel of judges U Thein said.
The festival, held in Mandalay Region, attracts spectators from across the country.
