Three garment factories were awarded for their best practices of safety and health at work, according to an official at the Factories and Labour Laws Inspection Department.
Myanmar Ha Hae, won first prize, with Famoso and Musung securing second and third places respectively.
The award ceremony, the first of its kind in Myanmar, took place at the Myanmar Engineering Society in Yangon on Sunday.
Small and medium enterprises are still short of expertise, technology and investment, with big firms just able to cope with the situation, said U Aye Myint, Union Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security.
Myanmar has emphasized measures to ensure safety and health in the workplace since 2000.
The ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) is reported to offer Excellence Award and Best Practice Award to factories in Myanmar as of 2016.
