Taw Win Development Foundation sends faculty members of tech universities abroad

A TOTAL of 30 faculty members of the Universities of Technology from Hmawby and Thanlyin of Yangon Region, including the two rectors, left the country on Monday for study tours which are sponsored by the Taw Win Development Foundation. The tours will give them international exposure and enhance their expertise. It will benefit the students they are teaching, said the foundation’s chairman U Ko Ko Htwe.
They will visit Thailand’s Rajamangala University of Technology in Thanyaburi, Asia Institute of Technology (AIT) and Chulalongkom University in Bangkok. They will also tour a high tech products factory during their five-day study tour.
The study tour cost K 30 million, according to U Ko Ko Htwe.
There will be follow-up training, workshops between foreign and local faculty members of technology universities, and further study tours for other faculty members of technology universities across the country, added the chairman.
