Tatmadaw’s role in national politics must be valuable: Senior General Min Aung Hlaing

THE role of the Tatmadaw in carrying out the national politics must be valuable, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
At a meeting with personnel of local regiments and battalions under the Easter Command in Taunggyi Saturday, the Senior General urged them to strive for reliability for the people by keeping the disciplines and in obedience to the instructions as they are carrying out the duty of defence and national politics.
To achieve the goal of stability and development of the country, armed conflicts should be ceased and activities on the road to democracy and efforts to establish the rule of law in the country should be in conformity with the law, he added.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also urged the personnel of the Tatmadaw to protect the interests of the people and to follow dos and don’ts in order not to cause any wrongs with the peoples in order to secure the unity of the national peoples and peace.
The Tatmadaw is planning to houour its members who did their duty with loyalty to the country as part of efforts for bringing the country on the path to democracy.
During his visit to the Tatmadaw Hospital in Taunggyi, the Senior General greeted local people who received eye operation there.
He also held talks with U Aung Kham Hti, the Patron of Pa-O National Federation, over peace and development of the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone.
