Swam Pyae Sone Co may be taken to court for failure to respond to gov directive : Deputy Home Affairs Minister

THE Swam Pyae Sone Company of Daw Aye Hsaing can be sued under Section 26 of the 2012 Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Lands Management Law if it fails to remove construction materials for the establishment of a soft-shell crab breeding facility and dried shrimp paste factory in Pyapon Township, Ayeyawady Region the company has until 20 June of this year, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Soe told Amyotha Hluttaw yesterday.  According to the deputy minister, the company’s operation was suspended in May following a prohibition order issued by the Pyapon Township farmland management committee.
On Monday the Pyapon Township General Administration Department issued instructions to the company, ordering them to clear the land plot.   Responding to the question of action to be taken against two illegal expat workers who were detained, the deputy minister said that they will be charged in accordance with the laws of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population and the Ministry of Home Affairs that will join hands with the regional government to take action against them.
