Yangon, 30 July—Members of the public are invited to undergo a free health assessment at City Mart supermarket in South Dagon Township on 8 and 9 August, an official from the retail chain said Thursday.
The programme aims to provide medical examinations free of charge to residents in the township, a heavily populated suburban area of Yangon with few high-income residents, City Mart Holding Ltd corporate social responsibility officer U Aung Soe said.
Under the programme, people may undergo tests for handgrip strength, bone mineral density (BMD), body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure on site from 1 to 6 p.m., with the organizer preparing hundreds of books to disseminate knowledge on first aid treatment.   As part of its cooperate social responsibility activities, City Mart Holding Ltd has carried out the health check programme since 2013 and provided free monthly medical check-ups to more than 10,000 people including foreigners.
The company is scheduled to conduct the programme at Ocean Supercentre in Mandalay Region in mid-August, planning to provide five kinds of medical check-ups including free eye tests, U Aung Soe said.—GNLM
