THE Yangon’s luxury Strand Cruise will launch its first Mandalay-Bagan voyage along the waterways of Ayeyawady River in December 22 this year.
The vessel can accommodate 54 passengers and has 27 cabin suites.
Mr Jerome Seban, the Strand Hotel and Cruise General Manager, said, “The Strand Cruise’s itineraries include an exclusive mooring overnight at Ava on the journey from Bagan to Mandalay, which allows the passengers exclusive access to the beautiful temple of Maha Aungmye  Bonzan after the crowds have departed in the evening. We will remain moored there until the following morning.”
The Strand Cruise is a reinvention of the legendary style and unique personality of The Strand Hotel Yangon. The cruise officially launched its services on 3 December.
“Having operated the Strand Hotel in Yangon for the past decade, we see there is a steady growth in demand among luxury travelers to discover the ancient monuments of Myanmar by using the Ayeyawady’s waterways,” said
Olivier Trinquand, Vice President of the Strand Hotel and Strand Cruise.
During Myanmar’s low travel season, the strand cruise’s three-night itinerary between Mandalay and Bagan will cost US$1,782 per head for a double room. For more information, visit
