Stimulants and Raw opium haul lead to arrests

Local authorities seized stimulants, accessories of gun and raw opium in Pinlaung- Hmawbe road on 6 January.
When the police stopped the motorbike, Maung Koe, the passenger shot the police and drove away. When he was arrested, police found one AK47rifle and one M20 pistol, 5 bullet bags, 78 rounds of bullets, 1.1 kilo of raw opium and 104 pills of stimulant.
Similarly, the police squad in Kyaukme discovered 1160 pills of stimulant on a motorbike driven by Aik Kyaw on 5 January.
Local anti-drug squad sized 590 pills stimulant in a motorbike heading from Hsipaw to Kyaukme. Charges have been filed against Aung Myint, the driver of the motorbike, Kyaw Win, his passenger. The men are being charged under the Anti- Narcotic law.— Myanmar Police Force
