State Counsellor witnesses donation for Daw Khin Kyi Foundation’s mobile library

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended a ceremony to donate three vehicles worth over US$ 200,000 for Daw Khin Kyi Foundation’s mobile library by Sumitomo Corporation Asia & Oceania Pte Ltd in Yangon yesterday.
Dr Thant Thaw Kaung, an executive of the foundation, CEO Mr. Masao Sekiuchi of Sumitomo Corporation Asia & Oceania Pte Ltd and Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Tateshi Higuchi spoke on the occasion.
Next, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi spoke words of thanks on the donation.
Then, the State Counsellor presented a certificate of honour to the CEO of Sumitomo Corporation Asia & Oceania Pte Ltd, and observed the mobile library vehicles.
Daw Khin Kyi Foundation is cultivating a reading habit in the people from five cities with the use of eight vehicles.
According to sources, the foundation and the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) under the Ministry of Information are set to ink an agreement on cooperation in promotion of libraries soon.— Myanmar News Agency
