State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended a dinner honoring the 70th Anniversary of Myanmar-Russia diplomatic relations held in the Kempinski Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. First of all the State Counsellor viewed the exhibition of photos shown on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Myanmar-Russia diplomatic relations.
The dinner honoring the 70th anniversary of Myanmar-Russia diplomatic relations commenced with the playing of the national anthems of the two countries, after which the Russian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E Dr. Nikolay Listopadov delivered a message of greetings and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi delivered a short speech to honour the occasion.
After the dinner, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was entertained by Russian folk music artists and the musical band “Ngwe Yaung Turiya Kyo Myar”, to which she presented a gift of a floral basket.
Mr. Anatoly Bulachnikov, the Vice-Chairman of the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation (RMAFC), and RMAFC member Mr. Rudolf Yanson presented Daw Aung San Suu Kyi with gifts and then took commemorative photos.
The event was attended by Union Election Commission Chairman U Hla Thein, Union Ministers U Kyaw Tint Swe, Dr. Pe Myint, Dr. Than Myint, U Han Zaw and U Kyaw Tin, Union Civil Service Board Chairman Dr. Win Thein, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Airforce) General Mya Tun Oo, Deputy Ministers U Aung Hla Tun, U Win Maw Tun, U Maung Maung Win, high ranking Tatmadaw officers, invited guests and officials.
