Sports Ministry, ECF Ministry crowned in Japan Cup Karatedo Contest

Yangon, 23 Nov —The Japan Cup Karatedo Contest wrapped up at Aung San Gymnasium in Yangon on 21 November.
Mai Oleva Yinhwa Thong Loi (Sports Ministry) secured the title in the women’s singles Kata event, the Ministry of Defence in the inter-club Kata event, Thazin Aye (Ministry of Defence) in the 50-kilo Kumite event, April Phaw (Ministry of Defence) in the 55-kilo Kumite event, Nway Nway Zaw Win (Sports Ministry) in the 61-kilo Kumite event, Zone Le Cei (Sports Ministry) in 68-kilo Kumite event, Win Thuza Min (Sports Ministry) in the 68-kilo Kumite event and the Sports Ministry in the inter-club Kumite event.
Min Hein Khant (Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry) clinched the title in men’s singles Kata event, the Ministry of ECF in the inter-club Kata event, San Toe (YCDC) in the 55-kilo Kumite event, Myint Maung Maung Hein (Defence Ministry) in the 60-kilo Kumite event, Aung Kyaw Soe (Sports Ministry) in the 67-kilo Kumite event, Aye Chan Naing (Ministry of ECF) in the 75-kilo Kumite event, Zaw Htet Wai (Defence Ministry) in the 84-kilo event and the Ministry of ECF in the inter-club Kumite event.
In the junior class, Hein Htet Aung (Thuwunna Karatedo Centre) and Shwe Yi Win (Kayah State) won best player awards with two gold medals each. In the senior class, Min Hein Khant (Ministry of ECF) secured three gold medals and Thazin Aye (Defence Ministry) two gold and two bronze medals, with both winning best player awards.
The Ministry of ECF lifted the championship trophy with four gold, three silver and one bronze in the men’s event while the Sports Ministry did so with five gold and one bronze in the women’s event. Minister Counsellor Mr Toshio Yamamoto of the Japanese Embassy and officials presented prizes to the winners.
