Parliamentary representatives are to serve the people and make their voices heard in parliament, Mahn Win Khaing Than, Speaker of both Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw, said in a meeting with local residents in Hinthada, Ayeyawady Region, on 9 July.
“The parliament will always fulfil people’s wishes in the exercise of legislative, executive and judicial powers,” said Mahn Win Khaing Than, encouraging residents to file complaints about unfair treatment with the parliament’s public complaints committee.
Representatives should draw a line between legislation and administration, with Mahn Win Khaing Than warning against their interference in administration as their primary task is to legislate to protect public interests.
