A SILICON statue of Bogyoke Aung San  will be put on display to the public at the Bogyoke Aung San Museum on Martyrs’ Day which falls on 19 July, according to the Ministry of Culture.
The life size statue of bogyoke being seated in an armchair and reading a book was created by artist Aung Kyaw Tun who also created a statue of Bogyoke Aung San for the museum of Bogyoke Aung San’s home in Natmauk in central Myanmar to mark the 100th birthday of General Aung San last year.
“It is very graceful to see the statue of Bogyoke. I hope this statue will attract a higher number of visitors this year to see Bogyoke Aung San sitting and reading at his home,” said Aung Kyaw Tun.
The Ministry of Culture spent K1.5 million ton creating the statue. The artist created it free of charge.
