A WOODEN bridge that connects Thazi Township to Nyaungyan Village, Mandalay Region, is in need of renovations, locals say.
Parts of the Shweku Bridge are seriously damaged, which raises the likelihood of car accidents at night, according to local residents.
The bridge is 120 feet long, 14 feet wide and 15 feet high. More than 10,000 residents from 13 villages in the Nyaungyan area rely on the bridge for their livelihoods.
The villagers have asked local authorities to repair the old bridge to help residents enjoy better transportation and a smooth flow of commodities.
