Senior General visits naval base in Thanlyin

THE defence forces are committed to nation building tasks and serving the public good as well as fulfilling their immediate duties of national defence, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said yesterday during a meeting with senior military officers at a naval base in Thanlyin, Yangon Region.
The commander-in-chief urged defence personnel to avoid being distracted from their tasks by detractors on social media and certain media outlets. He suggested they try to understand the various issues at play in the contention.    After being briefed on the maintenance and construction of military ships, the senior general encouraged personnel to excel at their duties and invest every effort in fleet exercises for combat readiness. He urged the group of men to lead by example and uphold a positive image of the defence forces of Myanmar. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also inspected the Department of Maritime Operations and the Damage Control Simulator Project.
