Senior General pay obeisance to remain of Kengtung Monastery Sayadaw

Yesterday morning, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla paid their respects to Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Arzeya of Kengtung Dhammawdaya Pariyatti Monastery, who died on 11 July. The remains of the Sayadaw was kept for public obeisance at the temporary structure on Phaya Kosu Hill, Kengtung, where the funeral service will be held.
After remarking on performing the necessary traditional funeral service, providing health care, drinking water and rest room facilities for public attending the funeral service, the Senior General took five precepts from Tuya Monastery Sayadaw Maha Gandavasaca Pandita Bhaddanta Pyinyatharmi and donated offerings to the monks and collective cash donations for the funeral service. The funeral service will be held on 15 October.
The Senior General then inspected the construction of the Abaya Mudra Buddha image near Pankwe Village, Kentung and the Buddha garden where the image is being constructed.
Afterwards the Senior General and party inspected agriculture and livestock breeding works conducted in Kentung military cantonment area.
