Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Myanmar Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener at the Bayintnaung Yeiktha in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and openly discussed the efforts of the Tatmadaw for gaining peace in the country, attack by AA group on border outposts in Rakhine State, drug trafficking situation in Rakhine State, necessary constructive cooperation from Bangladesh and requirement to clarify the real situation of Rakhine issue to the international community, helping displaced people at the IDP camps in Kachin State, investigation into the allegations regarding incidents in Rakhine State in 2017 and establishment of a military court according to military law regarding criticisms and allegations made by the international community and efforts to uncover the truth with firm evidence, monthly press conferences held by the Tatmadaw as part of efforts for informing the true situation to the people, according the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.—MNA
