Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays goodwill visit to India

A military delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, left Yangon International Airport Sunday for India at the invitation of Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Indian Armed Forces Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, PVSM, AVSM, VM of India.
The senior general was seen off at the airport by Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Indian Ambassador Mr Gautam Mukhopadhaya and Indian Naval Attaché Capt Navy Manish Bhandari.
The delegation includes Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the senior general, Lt-Gen Myint Soe, Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo and Lt-Gen Mya Tun Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Chief of Staff (Navy) Rear-Admiral Tin Aung San and Chief of Staff (Air) Brig-Gen Maung Maung Kyaw.
During the trip, the senior general will hold meetings with officials from the Indian government and Indian armed forces to discuss cementing friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and armed forces. Moreover, the senior general will visit the significant places and heavy industries.
Myanmar and India established diplomatic relations and military relationship on 4 January 1948. This is the second trip of the chief of Myanmar armed forces to India.
