Senior General Min Aung Hlaing donates offertories to Masoyein Taikthit Monastery

Rice, edible oil, offertories and cash were donated to monks at the Masoyein Taikthit Monastery by families of the Defence Services at a ceremony held at the monastery yesterday morning.
Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and senior military officers, including the commander of the Central Command, attended the ceremony.
The senior general and party received the five precepts from the Sayadaws at the monastery and the abbot preached sermons.
The senior general and his wife had earlier presented rice, cash and other offertories to the Sayadaw, with senior military officers following suit.
The congregation then shared the merit gained and served meals for the monks.
A total of 80 rice bags, 200 visses of edible oil, salt, potatoes, onions, and cash donations of Ks10 million were donated to the monastery by the Defence Services families.
