Senior General calls on President of Lao People’s Democratic Republic

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who is in Laos at the invitation of Minister of National Defence of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR) Lt-Gen Chansamone Chanyalath called on the President of Lao People’s Democratic Republic H.E. Mr. Bounnhang Vorachith at the Presidential Palace in Vientiane yesterday afternoon.
During the meeting, the President said that the bilateral relations and the relations between the two armed forces were improving and progressing and was expected that the existing friendship and cooperation would increase further.
Senior General Min AungHlaing then expressed his appreciation to the President for receiving him. The Senior General added that Myanmar President had also passed on his good wishes for increasing bilateral friendship and during this trip views were exchanged with LPDR Minister of National Defence and many agreements achieved on mutual cooperation between the two armed forces and security cooperation.
Matters relating to peace and stability in the border regions of the two countries, increasing border relations and trade to regional trade, eradicating drug trade and illegal trade between the two countries were also discussed and views exchanged according to the news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
