SEANF holds 13th Annual Meeting

THE 13th Annual Meeting of the South East Asia National Human Rights Institutions Forum (SEANF) was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Myanmar National Human Rights Commission Chairman acted as an alternate chairman of the annual meeting, with participation of chairmen and members of the Human Rights Commission from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Timor-Leste. At the meeting, the representatives discussed matters related to laying down the strategy of SEANF for the 2017-2021 FYs, sustainable development goals and the rights of aged persons.
The meeting continues today. A statement is expected to be released at the conclusion of the meeting addressing the rights of aged persons.
At the end of the meeting the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, which is the current chair of the SEANF, will hand over the chairmanship to the Philippines.—Myanmar News Agency
