Regional Chair of the Asia-Pacific Scout Committee Paul Parkinson, along with members of the committee, met Myanmar’s youth scouts and their instructors in the meeting hall of Thanlyin Technological University at 10 a.m. yesterday.
At the meeting, Rector of the Thanlyin Technological University Dr. Daw Theingi spoke about the formation and activities of the scouts. Acknowledging that he was in the country to cooperate with local scouts, Parkinson expressed his pleasure at the progress made by the scouts.
Director of Asia-Pacific Scout committee J. Rizal C. Pangilinan and Chairman of sub-committee Rajalingam Ramasamy discussed the duties and responsibilities of the scouts.
Also, Myanmar Chief Scouts Commissioner Dr. Tin Nyo said it was important to meet the chairman and members of the Committee, and hailed the meeting as being the driving force for young scouts to nurture the spirit of the scouts’ association and to serve the interests of their communities upon the completion of their studies.
Following the discussion, Parkinson and members of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee answered questions from Myanmar’s youth scouts.
