Red Cross members undergo advanced training

The Red Cross Supervisory Committee of the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory kicked off a first-aid course for trainers on 7 September at the people’s hospital in Dekkhinathiri Township.
Supervisory committee chairperson Dr Daw Hla Hla Kyi introduced the course, whose aim is to turn out competent trainers for Red Cross brigades throughout Nay Pyi Taw.
Township medical officers and qualified Red Cross members offered practical and theoretical training to 30 trainees from Nay Pyi Taw’s eight townships.
The course, which is scheduled to take place from 7 to 14 September, includes subjects such as medical check-ups, stemming bleeding, general patient care and the history of the Red Cross in Myanmar.
