Rakhine State Peace and Stability Supporting Committee holds first meeting

Rakhine State Peace and Stability Supporting Committee will report short-term and long term plans to the Union Government after meeting with local authorities and collecting basic facts in the state.
U Aye Tha Aung, Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw, said in his opening address of the first meeting of the committee in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday that the committee will hold talks with local authorities and work for reducing conflicts in Rakhine State.
Afterwards, Vice Chairmen of the Rakhine State Peace and Stability Supporting Committee Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint and Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu, and members of the committee Deputy Minister of the Office of the Union Government U Tin Myint, Rakhine State Security and Border Affairs Minister Col Phone Tint, Deputy Attorney-General U Win Myint, Yangon Region Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, Representative of Rakhine State Hluttaw U Maung Maung Ohn and U Nyi Hla Nge discussed the short-term and long-term projects for bringing peace and stability to Rakhine State.—MNA
