Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker meets foreign guests, attends 67th Anniversary of Chin National Day

Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann Friday met Professor Ursula Mannle, Chairwoman of Hanns Seidel Foundation, and Hon Mrs. Barbara Stamm, Speaker of the Bavarian State Parliament of Germany, at the Hluttaw Building here.
Also present at the call were U Nanda Kyaw Swa, deputy speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw, Chairman U Hla Myint Oo of Pyithu Hluttaw International Relations Committee and officials from the Hluttaw office.
Speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Aung Myint, Deputy Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw U Mya Nyein and MPs attended the ceremony to mark the 67th Anniversary of Chin National Day at Myanmar International Convention Centre-II, here, on Friday evening.
Amyotha Hluttaw MP U Sun Dok Ciint read out the message sent by President U Thein Sein on the occasion of the 67th Anniversary of Chin National Day.
Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann read his message to the Chin National Day and extended greetings.
Chin national Daw Thum Penn read out the message sent by Chairman fo Pyithu Hluttaw Rule of Law and Tranquility Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Leading committee member U Lien Ciint Mann reported on brief history of the Chin National Day. Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann presented certificates of honour to doctorate degree holder Chin nationals.
Officials presented certificates of honour to outstanding Chin nationals. The ceremony ended with presentation of Chin traditional dances and songs.
