Public Peace Movement Week events held in Taninthayi Region
Public Peace Movement Week events including musical entertainment and peace movement talks were held in Sakhanthit Village, Kyunsu Township and Myeik Universaty in Myeik, Taninthayi Region, on 5 and 6 December.
The event held at Sakhanthit Village, Kyunsu Township where singers Be Wa, Naung Yo, Kar Kar and Bo Bo Htut entertained by singing songs – “Stop wars right now and Our Land in Peace” at 6:00 pm on 5 December. Meanwhile cartoonist Maung Maung Fountain discussed and explained about the peace and the essence of peace logo with local peace loving populace. He then drew pictures and images about peace.
U Jimmy and U Min Ko Naing of 88 Generation Peace and Open Society then gave speeches on the Public Peace Movement.
Later, attendees to the public peace talk event lighted candles and prayed for eternal peace.
The event held at theater 1 in Myeik University at 10 am on 6 December was opened by a speech of Pro Rector Dr. Win Win Than from Myeik University and reciting peace poem by poet Mg Yu Pine. U Jimmy and U Min Ko Naing of 88 Generation Peace and Open Society then discussed peace and they were given the presents by Pro Rector Dr. Win Win Than. And then they took documentary photos.
