Protocol to 1930 Forced Labour Convention 29 and Recommendation 203 put on record at Pyidaungsu Hluttaw

THE Pyidaungsu Hluttaw announced yesterday that a Protocol to the 1930 Forced Labour Convention 29 adopted by the 103rd Session of the International Labour Conference and Recommendation 203 on Supplementary Measures for Suppression of Forced Labour were put on record.
Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe clarified a Protocol to the 1930 Forced Labour Convention 29 and Recommendation 203 on Supplementary Measures for Suppression of Forced Labour during a session of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw yesterday.
In his clarification, the Union minister sought the approval of the Parliament on a Protocol to the 1930 Forced Labour Convention 29 and Recommendation 203, saying that Myanmar ratified the 1930 Forced Labour Convention 29 in 1955 and needs to follow the implementation of the fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
According to the Union minister, Recommendation 203 needs to be documented in Parliament and the ILO will be informed of completion of the documenting.
Next, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Tin elaborated on a message sent by the President to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw regarding a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of an ASEAN-India Centre that needs to be signed by Myanmar.
