Proceeds from Carnival Walk to go to charity

WITH the aim of promoting healthy habits among families by changing lifestyle, Active Family Day Out 2016 “Carnival Walk” is set for Yangon in December, aiming to donate the proceeds from the event to aid organisations.
Scheduled to take place on 3 December at People’s Park in Yangon, the new event is open to all ages, inviting interested people to make registration to take part in the event between 11 and 28 November at marketplace by City Mart (Golden Valley branch), City Mart Supermarket (Thamine branch) and Ocean Supercenter (Shwegondine branch).
The registration fees is K3,000 per form, which includes up to three people to participate. 100 % of registration fees will go to philanthropic organizations including Yankin Children’s Hospital and a local body to eliminate trafficking in persons through City Love and Hope Foundation, said one of organisers. Several entertainment programmes such as family games and activities, special games for kids, a sale of traditional food for health and lucky draw programme will be included in the upcoming family fun day with the goal of promoting healthy lifestyle choices, said May Zin Soe Htet, marketing manager of City Mart Holding Co.
The first-ever event was held in 2014 and attracted 2,000 people at People’s Park, messaging about the importance of families staying active and the enjoyment of doing activities together as a family. Last year’s Active Family Day Out Event was celebrated by roughly 2,500 participants in Yangon.—Myitmakha News Agency
