President U Thein Sein visited the Paddy Seed Research Centre in Castello d’ Agonga (PV) of Milan in Italy, on Friday.
The officials of the centre explained the president and party about rice cultivation, production of paddy strains and modern agricultural machines used in paddy production industry of Italy.  The President and party then observed samples of the paddy strains, research works and demonstration of paddy husking before looking around paddy research farms.
The Milan-based PSRC was founded in 1931 and its headquarters, making especially research works for seed production, land reclamation, agricultural method and high quality products. Italy is the largest producer of rice in Europe with majority of rice fields in the valley of River Po, northern Italy, producing around 1.6 million tonnes of rice last year.
The president and party also met the staff members of families of Myanmar mission in Milan at the NH President.
In the evening, the president and Myanmar delegates joined the dinner at NH President Hotel served by Claudio Descalzi, Chief Executive Officer of Eni Energy Company.
