Nay Pyi Taw, 3 Aug — President U Thein Sein met Monday with leaders of four ethnic armed groups that are signatories to the Union Day deed of commitment, at a fruit cold storage and processing factory in the capital.
They discussed preparations for signing the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) before the 8 November general elections.
Also present at the meeting were union ministers U Soe Thane, U Aung Min, U Myint Hlaing, U Khin Maung Soe, U Ohn Myint and U Ye Htut, KNU Chairman General Saw Mutu Sae Po and party, Quartermaster-General Brig-Gen Saw Yin Nu and party of KNU/KNLA (Peace Council), Vice Chief of Staff Maj-Gen Saw Mo Shae of DKBA, Col Sai La and party of RCSS and officials of the Myanmar Peace Centre.—MNA
