Poll officials attend training course in Ottara District

Chief ballot officers, deputies and their assistants attended an orientation course on 5 October at the Ottara District General Administration Office.
Union Election Commission member U Aung Myint said the officials must know the election laws well, and he pointed out that the elections must be free and fair. He said advance votes must be dealt with according to rules and regulations and elaborated on the preparations being made for the 8 November election.
Ottara District Election Commission chairman U Aung Lwin explained the duties of poll officers and the voting process. He showed samples of valid and void votes.  The three-day course was attended by 48 poll officers.
