Plans underway to relieve water shortages in regions, states

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement is providing drinking water to villages in those states and regions that are facing water shortages caused by El Niño.
The ministry said that thousands of gallons of water had been transported to villages in Shan and Kayah States and Magwey, Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Yangon Regions yesterday in cooperation with regional and state governments and departments.
Arrangements are being made to supply drinking water to villages in Nay Pyi Taw and Zeyarthiri Township, it added. — GNLM
