People are key to implementing development

People are the key to development of the country, said Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than, calling for cooperation and participation of the people in the government’s efforts to develop the nation.
Mahn Win Khaing Than highlighted the importance of mass participation at a meeting involving parliamentarians, political parties, ward/village administrators, social organizations and local people in Kyonpyaw, Ayeyawady Region.
In his address, Mahn Win Khaing Than said that the Parliament has carried out enactment of new laws while abolishing and fixing some laws upholding the interest of the people, stressing the need to be patient and persistent as there is no overnight success.
Only when peace is prevailing will the nation develop, added Mahn Win Khaing Than.
Mahn Win Khaing Than invited local people to submit their written complaints and grievances with correct information to Public Complaints Committee which was, formed in Parliament and to him as well.
Mahn Win Khaing Than called for cooperation and coordination between the people and parliamentarians who are responsible to fulfill the people’s desires in accordance with the laws in implementation of regional undertakings.
Next, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Mahn Johnnie and officials elaborated on progress in development matters followed by a question and answer session.
Mahn Win Khaing Than later went to Yaykyi where he held talks with responsible persons of political parties and social organizations, officials concerned and local people. — Myanmar News Agency
