Patient, liver donor in recovery

A PATIENT and a donor who have undergone a liver transplant are currently in recovery, according to a spokesperson of the 500-bed Specialists Hospital in Yangon.
A local medical team led by Dr Than Htut, medical superintendent of the 500-bed Specialists Hospital, successfully performed a living donor liver transplant on 11 February.
After the surgery, 36-year-old donor U Myo Maung Maung, who resides the compound of the Thanlyin Township midwifery training school in Yangon, and 58-year-old patient U Myo Myint, of Dagon Myothit (North), gradually started feeling better and better. On 13 February, Union Health Minister U Than Aung inspected the health conditions of both patients and offered words of encouragement to them.
