Parliament swears in President, Vice-presidents, and Union-level personnel

President-elect U Htin Kyaw, two vice presidents and Union-level appointed personnel were sworn in at Pyidaungsu Hluttaw today.

First, President-elect U Htin Kyaw, swore on oath of office as the president in the presence of Speaker of the parliament Mahn Win Khaing Than with two Vice Presidents U Myint Swe and U Henry Van Thio.

Afterwards, personnel appointed at Union-level positions took the oath of office.

They are U Myo Nyunt who is appointed as the Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal; U Hla Thein, the Chairman of the Union Election Commission and Union ministers Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, Lt-Gen Sein Win, Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Dr Pe Myint, Thura U Aung Ko, Dr Aung Thu, U Thant Sin Maung, U Ohn Win, U Thein Swe, U Khin Maung Cho, Dr Than Myint, Dr Myint Htwe, U Kyaw Win, U Win Khaing, Dr Win Myat Aye, U Ohn Maung and Naing Thet Lwin, members of the Constitutional Tribunal U Nyi Nyi, U Myint Win, U Myo Myint, U Khin Maung Cho, Daw Khin Htay Kywe, U Twarl Kyin Paung, Daw Hla Myo Nwe and U Kyaw Hsan, and members of the Union Election Commission U Aung Myint, U Soe Ral, U Tun Khin and U Hla Tint.

The parliament put felicitations sent by leaders of the foreign countries to President U Htin Kyaw on record.

President U Htin Kyaw delivered an inaugural speech.
