Pakokku General Hospital was provided with a kidney dialysis machine and a water purifier yesterday by KBZ’s Brighter Future Myanmar Foundation.
The donations were made to mark the opening of the second branch of the Kanbawza Bank.
Dr U Phone Maw, the medical superintendent of the hospital, expressed thanks to the foundation for donating the water purifier and the dialysis machine, which is worth K27 million.
At the ceremony, a townselder also thanked the BFM for its contribution of K200 million for the rehabilitation of the people in Pakokku affected by the Storm Giri in 2011.
The philanthropic foundation is providing the healthcare sector with infrastructure and has enabled children to receive surgeries to repair cleft lips and cleft palates.
Since its founding in 2008, BFM has made efforts to uplift the lives of the underdeveloped community members at the grassroots level, supported other philanthropic organizations, helped with disaster relief and recovery and provided free healthcare services at flood-hit areas all across  the country.
