Over 800,000 fish introduced into rivers and creeks

THE Thaton State Fisheries Post will put over 800,000 fish including carps, barbuses, golden sturgeons and white sturgeons into rivers and creeks in order for the fish species to proliferate this year.
Saff from the Thaton District Fisheries Department together with local people added 100,000 into the Warpar dam in Thaton district, Mon state on 24 July to ensure sufficient supply of fish for consumers in the region.
U Tayzar Aung, the administrator of Thaton district, U Saw Lin, Deputy director of District Fisheries Department, U Thein Win, the township administrator, officials concerned from districts and townships and local people attended the ceremony at which 80,000 varieties of carps and 20,000 barbuses were added to the dam.
