Locals in Mohnyin, Kachin State, have expressed concerns about the possible delay of a bridge over opening on the town’s bypass road.
The community is calling on the Kachin State Government to take responsibility for the delay despite the fact that the government’s tenure will soon expire, according to a local report.
The Kachin State government has injected more than K1 billion into the iron reinforced bridge, which will be 300 ft long and 30 ft wide.
Kachin State Government is responsible for the delay of the completion of the bridge as it put out the project to the tender, said U Maung Nai, a local journalist. The bridge is expected to complete one year later than its target for opening, he said.
