Newly renovated Sintaewa Dam inspected

THE recently renovated Sintaewa (Thamattu) Dam in Thaungtha Township, Myingyan District, was inspected by District Commissioner U Myint Thin Aung on 17 October.
The 27-metre deep dam in Mandalay Region has the capacity to store 12,000 acre-feet of water.
The reservoir has 6,100 acre-feet of water at present, whichcan be used to irrigate 299 acres of paddy fields during the 2015-2016 monsoon paddy season, said Taungtha Township irrigation officer U Kyaw Swe Win.
The dam’s parapet had been rebuilt.
