THE construction of newly extended hospital facilities of Thanlyin General Hospital was recently completed, with plans to start operating early next month, according to the medical superintendent of the hospital.
The project is part of the government’s efforts to increase healthcare facilities to provide better medical care to the general public.
According to the project, a 200-bed out-patient building, a two-storey structure, a one-storey building, staff housing and other extended buildings have already been developed within the compound of the Thanlyin General Hospital.
All establishments are planned to be put into service in early December.
Thanks to the new facilities, the hospital will be able to receive patients from Thanlyin, Kyauktan, Khayan, Thongwa, Bago, Thanatpin and Thakayta townships. The general hospital currently offers medical care to people with 300 members of staff, according to its medical superintendent. —Thet Khaing (Thanlyin)
