THE Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems has announced the change of navigation channels in the Chindwin river for the safety of vessels as the river is beginning to recede.
As of 1 February, vessels are required to navigate upstream through pillars 3 and 4 and downstream through pillars 4 and 5, the announcement said.
The changed navigation channels have a clearance of 300 feet in width and 40 feet in depth.—Aung Thant Khaing
