Myanmar- Thai friendship cycling tour held in Kawthoung

Participants cycling at the opening ceremony of the 4th Myanmar-Thai cycling tour in Kawthoung.

The opening ceremony of 4th Myanmar- Thai Friendship cycling tour was held in front of clock tower at Annawa Ward, Kawthoung at 9:00am on 11 June, at attendances with deputy commissioner in Kawthoung District, Ranong Province Governor, officials from Hotels and Tourism department of Myanmar and Ranong, Tourism Association and Union, Chamber of Commerce, Grand Andaman Football United and bicyclists from Ranong Province cycling teams, and bicyclists from Myeik and local residents.
Kawthoung district’s depute Commissioner U Tin Thein Maung gave an introductory speech. Then, Ranong Province Governor Mr. Chatuphot Piyamputtra thanked and started the tour by planting two countries’ flags. A total of 466 bicyclists from Myeik, Kawthoung and Ranong including Malaysians took part in the 27 kilometers Long friendship cycling tour through roads in Kawthoung Town.
Afterwards, the cycling teams visited to Home for the Aged and gave donations.
This is a fourth tour and aims to strengthen the friendship in ASEAN families, promote travel between peoples on the borders and to develop border trade.
