Myanmar National Association of the Blind receives grant

Mr. Keiji Okada hands over grant to U Aung Ko Myint at MNAB’s head office in Yangon.

A grant was awarded by Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Welfare Foundation to Myanmar National Association of the Blind (MNAB) for the purchase of braille displays, desk-top magnifiers, and other equipment.
Mr. Keiji Okada, Chief Representative of Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc., Yangon Office, handed over the grant to U Aung Ko Myint, President of MNAB, at the award ceremony held yesterday at MNAB’s head office in Insein Township, Yangon.
This donation, intermediated by an international NGO “Peace Winds Japan,” aims at strengthening the operational capacity of the grantee, which was first established in 1996 and is managed by persons with visual impairment themselves with a membership of 530 individuals/groups.
