Myanmar loses to Malaysia but advances to semi-finals

The Myanmar U-19 youth football team lost to the Malaysia team, with a score of 1-0 yesterday in Group B of the 2018 AFF U-19 Championship, but advanced to the semi-finals, which will be played on 12 July in Indonesia.
The Myanmar team will compete against the Thailand team of Group A at the semi-finals, whereas the Malaysia team will play against Indonesia. Both semi-final matches will be played on 12 July.
A total of 11 teams from two groups of five and six teams took part in the 2018 AFF U-19 Youth Championship. In Group B, Myanmar competed against Malaysia, Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Brunei, while there were six teams in Group A—Thailand, Indonesia, Viet Nam, Laos, the Philippines and Singapore.
Myanmar played four matches in Group A, of which they won two, drew one and lost one. They now have seven points, while Malaysia have 10 points.
The final and third place matches of the 2018 AFF U-19 Youth Championship will be held on 14 July at Sidoarjo in Indonesia.
So far, the top scorers of the 2018 AFF U-19 Youth Championship are Bounphachan Bounkong from Laos with six goals, followed by Win Naing Tun from Myanmar and Korrawit Tasa from Thailand with five goals each.
