Myanmar hosts secure Mekong navigation meeting

THE 14th Joint Committee on Coordination of Commercial Navigation on the Lancang-Mekong River(JCCCN) continued yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw, with four participant countries signing a meeting agreement.
The representatives of Myanmar, China, Laos and Thailand gathered at the meeting to seek ways to secure the upper reaches of the Mekong river for commercial navigation as part of the implementing of the international waterway development plan aimed at enhancing the safety of the navigation systems, promoting  trade cooperation, carrying out rescue works and transporting and delivering oil and its products. For the third time, Myanmar will host the 15th JCCCN meeting in Mandalay Region next year.
