Myanmar have gold on minds ahead of semifinal clash with Vietnam

Myanmar’s footballers are aiming to bring home the gold medal from the 28th SEA Games in Singapore, coach Kyi Lwin said Friday on the eve of the under-23 team’s semifinal showdown with Vietnam.
“We are confident of reaching the final and winning the gold medal,” the Myanmar coach told the media at Singapore’s Ramada Hotel.  “I know their strong points and weak points.”
Myanmar will wear all-red kit while Vietnam will done white in the match which kicks off Saturday at 2pm local time (12:30 Myanmar Time) at the Singapore National Stadium.
Defender Ye Win Aung, who has two yellow cards from previous matches, and Win Zin Tun, who broke his leg in the match against host Singapore, will miss the game.
Myanmar advanced to the last four as the top-placed team in Group A after defeating Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines and drawing with Cambodia in the group stage.
Myanmar scored 14 goals in the four group matches, with seven different players finding their way onto the score sheet.—GNLM
